Standing Conference of Towns and Municipalities and ALDA have selected Sremski Karlovci as one of 3 host municipalities under European Local Democracy week supported by LADDER Programme which is implemented in dozen EU and non-EU countries.

As ALDA member, Danube 1245 was recognised as reliable partner and involved in organisation of Workshop held on 11th October 2017 in Sremski Karlovci for 35 foreign guests. Workshops were organised in Municipality Hall with simultaneous translation.

Branko Dimitrijevic i Gorana Gajinovic made a presentations related to experiences in revitalisation of „Court Garden“ located in Sremski Karlovci with brief reminder to historic moments and landmarks which make Sremksi karlovci a historic town.

During the presentation was held vivid discussion were our guests were involved in terms of presenting their examples of good practice from other countries. They highlighted the importance of using local legends in promotion (participant from Azerbaijan) and possible benefits from joining to existing networks of cities and towns located near River Danube and existing developing programmes and projects (guests from Italy and Slovenia).

Discussion was continued after the Workshop in local restaurant located on River Danube.
