In the Head Office of the Association “Danube 1245”, on 15.10.2021, the Activity 3 was realized within the phase 1 of the international project “Schuman Declaration: Initiative for the Revitalization of Europe”, which is implemented within the European Program “Europe for Citizens”.
This activity refers to the acquaintance of young citizens of Sremski Karlovci with European values and the importance of intercultural dialogue in preserving the diversity that is one of the European values. The event is planned for 15 young participants, mostly high school students and college students.
Young citizens took an active part in the discussion that followed the initial brainstorming on the topic of their perception of the European values they recognize and after getting acquainted with the elements that make up intercultural dialogue. In addition to a better understanding of the elements that make up intercultural dialogue, the use of intercultural dialogue as a tool for getting to know each other, better understanding and greater mutual understanding of different cultural patterns, traditions and heritage was especially discussed.
The meeting had a formal part, in which prof. Jelena Petrović from Karlovacka Grammar School held a presentation of the elements that will be used in the discussion.
The discussion that followed, took place during the formal part of the debate and was continued during the informal part, which took place in a free form in a nearby cafe, where all participants went in the second hour of the meeting.
