Citizens’ Association “Dunav 1245” from Sremski Karlovac organized a Digital Culture Hackathon for Karlovci Grammar School students on November 19-21, 2022. within the Erasmus+ project SIDE (Sucessful Innovators on Digital Culture) https://sideeurope.eu/
Educational organizations and civil society organizations from Belgium, Greece, Cyprus, Poland, Italy and Serbia participate in this project.
The students of department IV2 first learned about the hackathon format, which involves working in teams to creatively solve the given problem, through project teaching in English classes during the month of November, under the mentorship of Professor Jelena Petrovic, who is the creative manager of the SIDE project. as a couple created short videos (Digital Culture Bites) presenting in digital format the most interesting cultural events in Novi Sad.
The expert jury, consisting of – Andrea Ratkovic, assistant professor at the Faculty of Contemporary Arts in Belgrade, Neda Brajenovic, web designer from Nea Soft from Sremski Karlovci, and Jovan Jaksic, art manager at the Museum of Contemporary Arts in Novi Sad, announced the winning video.
The winning team, Mia Nikolic and Marina Kendjur, students of class IV2 of Karlovci Grammar School, was awarded wireless headphones, and all participants received a USB flash memory.
As part of the project, students also participated in piloting an application related to digital literacy on the project website and wrote reviews, i.e. provided feedback on the effectiveness of the application.
