From September 3 to 5, 2026, the first international event was held in Sremski Karlovci as part of the LifeIn – Life on the Internet project, which brings together young people from Serbia and Slovenia with the aim of improving digital citizenship, safe and responsible behavior on the Internet, critical thinking and inclusion.
A total of 50 students participated in the event – 25 students from Karlovac High School from Serbia and 25 students from Novi Mesto in Slovenia. During the joint program, young people had the opportunity to exchange experiences and views on the challenges they face daily in the digital environment through interactive workshops, discussions and practical activities.
Through interesting workshops, the participants discussed trust in information on the Internet, recognition of unreliable and harmful content, hate speech, responsible communication and the importance of digital literacy.
In addition to the work part of the program, a tour of Sremski Karlovac was also organized for guests from Slovenia, which was an additional opportunity for socializing, getting to know each other and strengthening ties between young people from two local communities.
The LifeIn – Life on the Internet project is implemented with the support of the European Union within the CERV program, and its important component is the creation of a space where young people can openly discuss their experience in the digital world and together develop the knowledge and skills needed for safe, critical and responsible use of the Internet.
The next meeting of project participants will be held from September 20 to 22, 2026 in Novi Mesto, Slovenia, where the joint work and exchange of experiences of students from Serbia and Slovenia will continue.
