On May 25, 2026, the first kick-off meeting of the partners of the LifeIn – Life on the Internet project was held, which is implemented within the framework of the CERV – Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values program, called Town Twinning.
The meeting was devoted to the presentation of project goals, agreement on the way of work and coordination of future activities between partner organizations from Serbia and Slovenia. The partners discussed the implementation plan, the time frame of the activities, the division of responsibilities, the communication between the project teams, as well as the principles of quality monitoring, evaluation and visibility of the project.
Special attention during the meeting was focused on the preparation of international events, the involvement of young people, teachers, representatives of civil society organizations and local communities, as well as the development of practical tools and methodologies that will contribute to a more responsible, safer and more critical use of digital space.
The Life on the Internet project was created as a response to the modern challenges of the digital society, in which the Internet offers young people and citizens numerous opportunities for learning, communication, collaboration and creative expression, but at the same time it also brings risks such as misinformation, hate speech, digital violence and data abuse. The goal of the project is to empower young and active citizens in Serbia and Slovenia for responsible, safe and critical participation in the digital space, with a special focus on digital citizenship, ethics, inclusion and transnational exchange of good practices.
As part of the project, two international two-day events are planned, in Serbia and Slovenia, which will bring together participants through interactive lectures, workshops, round tables, creative forums, digital storytelling and joint photography tours. The activities will enable participants to develop critical thinking, digital ethics, skills for safe use of the Internet and active participation in the digital society.
The project will also include local multiplier activities, through which the acquired knowledge and developed tools will be presented and applied in local communities. Particular importance will be given to inclusion, gender equality and protection of the rights of vulnerable groups, so that the digital space is more accessible, safer and fairer for all participants.
The project is expected to contribute to the empowerment of at least 100 participants, the development of critical thinking and digital competences, the strengthening of the capacities of young people and adults, as well as the creation of a sustainable cooperation network between Serbia and Slovenia. Through the joint work of partners, LifeIn will contribute to the development of responsible digital citizens and the promotion of European values in the daily life of young people and local communities.
