Local Event “Captivating the Dynamic Rhythms of the Labour Market”Held in Futog

Within the Erasmus+ project HORIZON 30 – Empowering Youth for Tomorrow’s Workforce, the civil society organisation Danube 1245 organised on  February 18 th 2026 ,   a local youth-focused event entitled “Captivating the Dynamic Rhythms of the Labour Market”, which was held at the Agricultural School in Futog. The event brought together 25 final-year high school students (aged 18), who, through a series of interactive activities, had the opportunity to explore current labour market trends, future professions, skills in demand today and in the future, as well as ways in which young people can actively participate in decision-making processes related to employment and education.
Through a combination of video and podcast content, as well as interactive workshops based on the High School Café methodology, participants discussed professions that are disappearing, those that are emerging, and the underlying causes of these changes – ranging from technological development to broader social and global trends. Particular emphasis was placed on understanding the challenges young people face when entering the labour market, as well as their expectations and concerns regarding future employment. A significant part of the programme was dedicated to the development of employability skills. Participants analysed the gap between the skills they acquire during their education and those currently expected by employers, with a particular focus on soft skills, digital competences, and adaptability to change. During a dedicated session, young people were also introduced to the Youth Guarantee programme as one of the key support mechanisms for young people transitioning from education to the labour market. In the final part of the event, the focus shifted to youth voice and the local labour market.
Participants discussed realistic employment opportunities within their local community, the advantages and challenges of remote work, and areas in which the education system could be improved in order to better prepare young people for the contemporary demands of the labour market. Through targeted workshops, young people formulated concrete
messages and recommendations aimed at improving youth employability and strengthening the link between education and the world of work. The event was implemented using non-formal learning methods, with active youth
participation, teamwork, open dialogue, and reflection. The views, ideas, and recommendations collected during the event will be documented and used in further project activities within the framework of the HORIZON 30 project.

The HORIZON 30 – Empowering Youth for Tomorrow’s Workforce project is implemented with the support of the Erasmus+ Programme, with the aim of empowering young people to
actively participate in shaping their own professional and social future.
