On May 25, 2026, the Karlovac High School and the Civic Association “Danube 1245” signed a Cooperation Agreement, which establishes a framework for joint action in the field of education, culture, youth work, international cooperation and implementation of projects of importance to students, teachers and the local community.
The agreement enables the development of cooperation through the participation of students and professors in local, national and international project activities, especially within the framework of European Union programs such as Erasmus+ and CERV – Citizens, Equality, Rights and Values. Cooperation will include the organization and participation in workshops, conferences, round tables, debates, public events, exchanges, guest appearances and other activities that contribute to the development of knowledge, skills and competences of young people.
The special importance of this agreement is reflected in the possibility that Karlovac High School students, with the support of professors and in cooperation with the “Danube 1245” Association, will be active participants in projects that promote European values, intercultural dialogue, active citizenship, democratic culture, solidarity, equality and non-discrimination.
The citizens’ association “Danube 1245” will, in accordance with its experience in the preparation and implementation of international projects, provide support in the design, preparation and implementation of project activities, while Karlovac High School, in accordance with its capabilities and the organization of the teaching process, will enable the involvement of students, professors and professional associates in activities of educational and social importance.
By signing this agreement, conditions were created for strengthening ties between formal and informal education, as well as for greater involvement of young people in European initiatives, international cooperation and activities that contribute to the development of the local community.
The cooperation between the Karlovac High School and the Citizens’ Association “Danube 1245” represents an important step towards opening up new opportunities for students and teachers, as well as towards the further positioning of Sremski Karlovac as an environment that supports education, culture, European cooperation and the active participation of young people.
